A Debilitating Loss
At first, I thought that this was just a joke. I received a sympathy letter for my death in my mailbox. Everything just seemed to stop. On the same day I received this news, I had a heart attack, and had to have quintuple heart bypass surgery. No one wanted to pay the $70,000 hospital bill, and I lost everything I owned because I couldn't pay it. Our Need for Health Care You might think that when our troops come home, everything is okay. However, it's just the beginning. Many of our troops need health care, and they have to fight to get it. Our government is just fine while the troops are fighting. They wait until the troops all come home with all the stress and other illnesses from fighting, and get kicked aside, just like our Vietnam veterans. I implore you to give a little love. Missing Money When I went to my bank on September 3, 2013, I had some cashier's checks made out to pay my bills. I left $150 in my savings and checking in order to keep them open, then took the rest out before they could take all of it. Come to find out, my account was overdrawn. They told me I had $1,200 but it was gone. Additionally, one of my cashiers was new, and wrote out one of the checks to U-Store Self-Storage™ on Tillman Road wrong, forcing me to come back to them to do it over. Watch Your Accounts Closely Note that veterans who are suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder are having their money taken from their account. We have our checks given to us through automatic direct deposit, and they think we won't catch them taking our money. During that time, I did not write any checks nor use my debit card, and my account was still overdrawn from the amount above. I was protesting about the overdraft of my account with PNC™ bank, but I am 65 years old, and they are doing a good job of killing me, along with the rest of veterans. This is a warning to all veterans to watch their bank accounts very, very closely. All I can say is that we must do the best we can with our illness, as they are out to get us. |
What’s a Veteran Suppose To Do?By John Evans
Why are we treated so BAD?
Nobody care, that is why it is so heartbreaking. That is why it is so SAD, We fought for our country and did our BEST, We come back home, hoping to get some peace and REST. It is a shame that it have to be this WAY, We just sit around and wish for a better DAY. If you don't believe me, take a look at YOURSELF. We have feeling, just like everybody ELSE, We try to forget our PASS, But the way we are treated, it will always LAST. We seek out for loving CARE, But alone with our pain and suffering, nobody is THERE. It seem like everybody speak out and say, WHO,YOU, What is a veteran suppose TO DO ? |
